The Research Hub Neuroethics is a new infrastructure for interdisciplinary exchange in the dynamic research field of neuroethics in Germany and internationally. It actively promotes knowledge transfer and stronger networking among scientists from various disciplines, institutions, and organizations, as well as stakeholders from industry, politics, and societal interest groups.
A key aspect is strengthening international connections for all projects in the field of neuroethics, as well as for early-career researchers, by facilitating contacts with international neuroethics research institutions and professional organizations. To better respond to the rapid developments in neuroscience and neurotechnology, and to provide guidance for policy-making and research funding in the ELSA-domain, another primary goal of the hub is the development of forward-looking anticipation strategies ("Future Scoping").
As part of the BMBF-funded subprojects, the hub supports early-career researchers in the field of neuroethics and provides assistance in developing policy recommendations. During the funding period, the network partners organize various opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration and networking, including workshops, future labs, and a retreat week.
The hub collaborates with networks, institutions, and associated members. This makes research topics, connections, ongoing funded projects, as well as existing networks and institutions with thematic overlaps in ELSA-research within the neurosciences
more visible and accessible to everyone who is interested.
The Research Hub Neuroethics aspires to build an inclusive community for participatory co-creation and intensive networking, capable of embracing and supporting a wide range of scientific approaches and thematic interests. The leading locations and subproject leaders of the Research Hub Neuroethics demonstrate that the hub provides an inherently decentralised structure which facilitates interdisciplinary collaboration. At the same time, the hub is a central point of contact and collaborates with national and international research networks and project initiatives.
